My First Solo Journey

Happy Holidays! As this year comes to a close, I wanted to share something with you. I just returned from six weeks in Europe, and I'm still processing everything that unfolded.

The journey began at the Kipaipai Workshop in Sorrento, where I gathered with an incredible group of artists and mentors—an experience that was both joyful and illuminating, giving me clarity about my next artistic steps. From there, I embarked on my first solo travel adventure through Marseille, Lyon, and Dijon.

I usually plan everything to the last detail, but this time I decided to stay open to whatever came my way. I'm so glad I did. Spontaneous moments became the highlights: visiting artists' studios in Marseille, learning silk painting, taking a full-day embroidery class in Lyon, and dining at Sublime, a restaurant featured in the Michelin Guide.

The journey ended with a two-week residency at Château d'Orquevaux in the Champagne region. This place hummed with the energy of over 20 creative souls supporting each other's work. We laughed, cried, and dined together (some partied!), but most importantly, we created. At the end of two weeks, writers shared their stories and scripts, musicians performed their songs, and visual artists opened their studios to reveal what we’d created during our time there.
